What is the CompTIA Network+ Certification?
In 1995, the IT Skills Project was formed to identify, classify, and publish skills standards for networking professionals. The companies that developed and funded this project include: Compaq Computers, Digital Equipment Corp., IBM, Lotus, Microsoft, Novell, U.S. Robotics, US West, and Wave Technologies. Based on the results of industry research completed in November 1997, CompTIA defined the job tasks of networking professionals. Network+ certification grew out of this research and since 1995 the certification has been updated to include the latest advancements in the IT and Networking fields.
